The Middle East and Islamic Seminar 2013/2014
This seminar consists of three topics. First, we will introduce the pioneering research in Japan on non-Muslims in Egypt under the Muslim dynasties. Next, we will look specifically at Christian pilgrimages in Egypt during the period of Muslim rule from the 10th to the 15th century. Finally, we will introduce some of the monasteries and churches in Cairo and along the Red Sea coast, where the speaker visited last month.
