Yemen Special Assembly 2: “On the Sidelines of the Yemeni Civil War? : Historical Today’s Dynamics in Hadramawt and Other Eastern Regions” (July 6, 2025)

Yemen Special Assembly 2: “Bystanders in the Yemeni Civil War? : Historical Today’s Dynamics in Hadramout and Other Eastern Regions”

Overview

Located in the southern Arabian Peninsula, adjacent to Saudi Arabia and Oman The Hadramout region is not only located in Yemen, which is currently in the midst of a civil war, but at one point its coastline was overrun by Al-Qaeda in the Arabian Peninsula (AQAP), and people’s lives have been unstable due to difficulties in maintaining infrastructure for daily life. On the other hand, compared to other regions, the security situation is stable, and the country maintains ties with the outside world, as Muslims from Southeast Asia come to study Islamic studies in the country. The second part of the special meeting on Yemen held on May 11, 2025 will focus on the historical background and current situation of Hadramawt and other areas east of Yemen, which are rarely reported in Japan. /p>
