Library News

Conditions

Hours

• Weekdays: 9:30-17:30 (12:30-13:30: No Counter Service）
• Closed: Saturdays, Sundays, National Holidays and New Year's Holidays (December 27th to January 5th), Entrance examinations period
  *Library may also be closed for some events.

Entry Procedure

• Members of UTokyo: Not required
• Non-Members and Alumni: Advance reservations recommended. Please check the information for [Non-members/Alumni].

Borrowing

• Books: Up to 5 books for 2 weeks (These can be renewed up to 4 times.)
• Journals: Up to 5 volumes for 3 days (Member of Civil Engineering: for 1 week)
• Present your IC University ID card or library card.

Photocopying

• There is no copy machine in this library.
• If you would like a copy of the material,
• Members of the University of Tokyo can borrow materials or request photocopies and PDF files . (Members of Civil Engineering can also use the copy machine in the office with the Department copy card.)
• Non-members can use the Inter-Library Loan (ILL) service. Please consult with your library staff.

How to Search

• If you see "Eng.1A Civil.Lib." on the "Location" field in the OPAC search results screen, the material may be accessed at Engineering Bldg. 1 Library A.
• If you see "Eng.1A Civil.Lab.", the material is being held in the laboratory, so sometimes it is not available. For details, please ask at the library counter.
• If you see "書庫" displayed in the 「コメント」(“Comment”) box, the material is held in the closed stacks archive, rather than in the reading room, so sometimes it is not available. For details, please inquire by e-mail.

Dissertations

Please see Dissertation in UTokyo on general use.

Engineering Bldg. 1 Library A has course-based doctoral dissertations of Civil Engineering. If you would like to read them, please ask the library in advance.

Delivery Request

Members of department of Civil Engineering can order documents from other libraries (in UTokyo or other universities). They are delivered to Engineering Bldg. 1 Library A. Fee-based services require additional registration at the library in advance.
