Professor Makoto NISHIYAMA, Ph.D.

• Makoto Nishiyama received his B.Sc. (1984), M.Sc. (1986), and Ph.D. (1991) degrees from The University of Tokyo. He was appointed Assistant Professor at The University of Tokyo in 1988, and promoted to Associate Professor in 1994 and to Professor in 2003 at the Biotechnology Research Center, The University of Tokyo. He has been studying structure, function, and regulation of enzymes involved in amino acid biosynthesis.

Associate Professor Saori KOSONO, Ph.D.

• Saori Kosono received the Bachelor (1991), Master (1993), and Ph.D. (1996) degrees (Biotechnology) from Osaka University. She was a Special Postdoctoral Researcher at RIKEN in 1996, and appointed to Research Scientist in 1997 and Senior Research Scientist in 2005. She was appointed to Project Associate Professor in 2012 and Associate Professor in 2019 at the Biotechnology Research Center, The University of Tokyo. She has been studying molecular microbiology, especially focused on protein lysine acylation in bacteria.

Assistant Professor Ayako YOSHIDA, Ph.D.

• Ayako Yoshida received her B.Sc. (2006), M.Sc. (2008), and Ph.D. (2011) degrees from The University of Tokyo. She has been studying structure, function, and regulation of metabolic enzymes involved in amino acid and (short-chain) fatty acid metabolism.
