Can we understand the current tense situation in Yemen as a sectarian conflict? It is necessary to understand the historical background of the past half century to deepen our knowledge on the current situation in Yemen. We will also discuss the impact of “tribal” societies on the future order and the Saudi airstrikes. There will also be a special emergency talk by Akiko Nonaka, former Specialist Researcher at the Embassy of Japan in Yemen, who stayed in Yemen until March of this year and knows the country best. Please join us for this rare opportunity to hear from two people who know Yemen inside and out.
