We consider various ways of proving Mislin’s theorem on homomorphisms between
groups that induce an isomorphism in mod-p cohomology. We then show how
we can obtain a result for groups of finite virtual cohomological dimension
(discrete or profinite) and ask what should be understood by fusion for such
groups.
