This survey of applications of braid groups gives connections between spaces of
representations, cohomology, homotopy, as well as certain Lie algebras as developed
by T. Kohno. The mathematics represents joint work with A. Adem, R. Budney,
J. Berrick, Y. Wong, and J. Wu.
