Regulations of the Association

Chapter 1 - General Rules

Article 1
This association is named the Alumni Association of the Department of Civil Engineering, University of Tokyo.

Article 2
This association aims to strengthen connections and friendships between graduates from the Department of Civil Engineering, University of Tokyo.

Article 3
This association can establish local branches.

Article 4
This association's secretariat is located in the Department of Civil Engineering, University of Tokyo.

Chapter 2 - Memberships

Article 5 - Regular Members
Any graduates who had four-years undergraduate studies, or two-years master studies, or three-years Ph.D. studies from the Department of Civil Engineering, University of Tokyo are the Regular Members of this association.

Article 6 - Associate Members
Any person who does not satisfy the article 5 but obtained a Ph.D. degree from the Department of Civil Engineering, University of Tokyo are the Associate Members if this association.

Article 7 - Associate Members
Any person who had studied in undergraduate course or graduate course without obtaining a degree, or any person who was a researcher or research student in the Department of Civil Engineering, University of Tokyo can be an Associate Member of this association through the process by administrative board.

Article 8 - Annual Fee
Regular and Associate Members are required to pay 3,000 yen as an annual fee.

Article 9 - Updating personal information
Members are required to inform this association as soon as possible whenever their job, office or address is changed.

Article 10 - Guest Member
Any person who was/is a professor, an associate professor, or an assistant professor in the Department of Civil Engineering, University of Tokyo, and is not covered by Article 5 to 7, is assumed to be a Guest Member of this association.

Chapter 3 - Director Committee

Article 11
This association sets an administrative board, and the members include:
A President
Two Vice-presidents
Two advisers from each graduate year
A secretary-general

Article 12
The president and one of the vice-president are elected by mutual vote from the professors with membership in University of Tokyo.

Article 13
The President recommends one vice-president.

Article 14
Advisers are elected by members of each graduate year.

Article 15
President appoints the secretary-general.

Article 16
The president manages the association business on behalf of this association.

Article 17
The vice-presidents assist president and carry out their duties as a proxy when the president is not available to do so.

Article 18
Advisers are required to establish contact between this association and the members in his graduate year.

Article 19
The secretary-general carries out the business of this association under president's assignments.

Article 20
The service term of a member in the administrative board is one year, but it can be extended.

Article 21
Other members of the administrative board can be appointed by the president when it is necessary.

Chapter 4 - Administrative Board

Article 22
The administrative board holds the regular meeting on May in each year. However, it can be summoned at other time according to president's decision. Accounts of revenue and expenditure of previous year, regulation correction, and other important affairs are decided in the meeting.

Chapter 5 - Property and Accounting

Article 23
The property of this association depends on the annual fee, contribution, and interests. Accounts of revenue and expenditure are reported to every member once a year. However, the fiscal year is assumed to run from April 1st to March 31st of the next year.
