Three new videos from the "CAWK Academic Skills Mini-Lecture Series" have been added to the Academic Writing and Report Resources page.
Mini-lectures by Dr. Felix Kuhn Project Assistant Professor, Manager of English Support; Dr. Yui Toyota Project Research Associate, Manager of Junior division and Second Language Support; and Dr. Fusako Boickman Professor from the Center for Global Communication have been released.
In "How to Describe Figures and Tables – For Writing Persuasive Reports", Dr. Fusako Boickman explains how to effectively describe visual data such as graphs and table using three key strategies for writing convincing reports.
In "Describing Artwork," Dr. Yui Toyota introduces ways to write interpretations of artworks in academic papers and reports. The techniques discussed can also be applied to literature, historical and social phenomena, and case studies—making the video a helpful resource for students in the social sciences and beyond.
In "Consider Your Reader," Dr. Felix Kuhn discusses the importance of keeping your audience in mind when writing academic texts, with clear explanations.
The first two videos are in Japanese, but all videos include subtitles and support automatic translation.
Watching these videos before beginning your writing process will help you work more efficiently and effectively.
We encourage you to check them out!
