【New Materials & Resources】Academic Skills Mini-Lecture Series

Four new videos have been added to the "Materials & Resources" page, as part of the CAWK Academic Skills Mini-Lecture Series.

In these videos, Associate Professor Diana Kartika, Director of English Support at our center, explains the fundamentals of academic writing—primarily in the context of academic papers—in English.

One of the videos, "Academic Writing for the Social Sciences, ALESA," is specifically intended for students enrolled in the ALESA program. It features an interview-style discussion with Project assistant professor Tsai Aurora, who is currently teaching in the ALESA program (as of November 2024). Together, they explore common challenges students face when writing academic papers in ALESA and offer practical strategies to overcome them.

We especially recommend these videos to ALESS/ALESA students and anyone writing an academic paper for the first time.

Most of our Academic Skills Mini-Lecture Series is in Japanese, but we encourage you to watch them—English subtitles are now available.
