Understanding Palestine/Israel Today with Jerusalem as a Starting Point (Cosponsored by UTCMES)
The ongoing clashes in the Old City of Jerusalem and the surrounding areas centering on the evicted Sheikh Jarrah have culminated in large-scale armed clashes just before Eid. In particular, at least 100 Palestinians and 7 Israelis have been killed by Israeli airstrikes and rockets fired by Palestinian armed groups in and around the Gaza Strip.
The link between Jerusalem’s insecurity and the military tension in and around the Gaza Strip also took place when the U.S. Embassy was relocated in 2018. Currently, the linkage is also diffusing in Palestinian areas within Israel. In this seminar, four speakers will present current situations in Palestine/Israel with Jerusalem as a starting point.
