Zirconia is one of the most popular functional and structural ceramics, which has been widely used. However, the fundamental mechanisms is still under investigation, and there are huge potentials in modulations of functional properties by controlling micro and atomic structures. Our project aim to create next generation zirconia with superior properties, by combing the state-of-the-art electron microscopy, theoretical calculations and sintering techniques.
