＜授業の到達目標＞
研究者が知っておくべき知的財産に関する基礎的な知識を修得するとともに、バイオテクノロジー分野における代表的な特許やその役割について学ぶことにより、特許の重要性を理解することを目的とする。
＜授業の概要＞
科学研究における完成形である「論文」と権利化手段である「特許」の違いや特許出願の際に必要となる特許制度の基礎知識（知的財産についての一般知識から、特許を取得するための要件に至るまで）の全体像を解説するとともに、知財分野でのキャリアデザインについても触れる。
The aim of this lecture is to understand the importance of patent right by studying representative patents in biotechnology field and these role, accompanied by acquiring basic knowledge of intellectual property that researchers should know.
This lecture will show the comparison between the actual patents in biotechnology field and research contents of these patents in order to understand the difference between the "research papers", which are the culmination of the academic research, and "patents", which are the means of acquisition of the right. In addition, the basic knowledge of patent system, from general knowledge of intellectual property to requirements for obtaining patent right, will be commented in this lecture. These are essential knowledge for reseachers for apply the patent.
