A Stretchable OLED using a Printable Bucky Gel

We developed a printable elastic conductors composed of “bucky gel” (a carbon nanotube gel of an ionic liquid) and a fluorinated copolymer.  A jet-milling process allows for a uniform dispersion of fine bundles of carbon nanotubes in a rubber matrix, realizing a gelatinous composite with an extraordinary high conductivity of more than 100 S cm–1 and stretchability of more than 100%.  By using this conductive material as ink for circuit pattern printing, we can construct a rubber-like stretchable OLED display.
