We study the many-body effects beyond the single-particle picture in terms of the quantum field theoretical methods and numerical simulations on computers. Subjects of research include theories of high temperature superconductors, CMR manganites, quantum spin system, quantum Hall system, topological insulators /superconductors, multiferroics, and spintronics. Based on the knowledge from these studies, we will explore theoretical design of quantum information processes using spins and Majorana fermions.
