好 物:讃岐西部地域のさぬきうどん(最近蕎麦も食べるようになってしまった。堕落したものだ。言い訳だが、関東には旨い饂飩屋がない。蕎麦屋で食べる饂飩の不味いこと、不味いこと、筆舌に尽くしがたい。「あぁ、今日も不味い饂飩を食べてしまったなぁ」と反省するより、蕎麦を食べたほうが、あきらめがついて精神衛生上好ましい)

『秘蔵宝鑰』
淳和天皇の天長年間(824〜834)、法相(ほっそう)・三論・華厳(けごん)・律・天台・真言の6宗に、各宗派の教義をしるして提出せよという勅命がくだった。真言宗では、空海みずからが『秘密曼荼羅十住心論』(十住心論)をあらわし、830年に提出したが、これは引用も多く、10巻にのぼる大部のものとなった。そこで空海は、『十住心論』の内容を抄出した『秘蔵宝鑰(ひぞうほうやく)』3巻を執筆。緻密な文体で、教義の趣旨を簡潔にあらわした。人間の心が浅薄な状態からしだいに高まり、密教の究極の智恵に達するまでを段階的にしめしたものだが、それは同時に、当時の社会思想や先行宗派に深浅の段階をつける試みでもあった。すなわち1〜3は外道(1=欲望人、2=儒教、3=道教)、4〜5は小乗(4=声聞、5=縁覚)、6〜7は権大乗(6=法相、7=三論)、8〜9は実大乗(8=天台、9=華厳)をあらわし、これら「顕教」に対する密教の優位性を説くのである。 我、今、詔を蒙(こうむ)つて十住を撰す  頓(とみ)に三妄を越えて心真に入らしめん  霧を_(かか)げて光を見るに無尽の宝あり  自他受用(じたじゅゆう) 日に弥(いよいよ)、新なり _祖(ばっそ)して伽梵(がぼん)を求む  幾郵(いくうまや)してか本床に到る  如来(にょらい)明らかにこれを説きたまへり  十種にして金場(こんじょう)に入る  已(すで)に住心の数(しゅ)を聴きつ  請ふ彼の名相を開け  心の名は後に明らかに列ぬ  諷読(ふどく)して迷方を悟れ[現代語訳] わたくしは、今、淳和帝のご命令を受けて、「十住心」についての著作を書いた  すみやかに、あらゆる迷いを克服して真実の心の世界に人びとをして入らしめたいと思う次第である  迷いの霧をのぞいて日の光を見ると、そこには無尽の宝がある  自分も他の者も共にこれを用いて、日々に新しく、尽きることがない 心を発(おこ)して仏を求めようとするが  本来のさとりの世界に達するのはどれだけ経(た)ってのことだろうか  如来はこのことを明らかにお説きになられた  心の世界を十種に分け、その階梯を経て永遠のさとりの世界に入ることができる  すでに住心の数は聞くことができた  願わくはその名称と内容について開示されたい  心の名称はすぐあとで明らかに列挙する  これをよく読んで、行方の迷いをさとっていただきたい


第一異生羝羊心(いしょうていようしん)

凡夫狂酔して 吾が非を悟らず。 但し婬食(いんじき)を念ずること 彼の羝羊の如し。[現代語訳] 無知な者は迷って、わが迷いをさとっていない。雄羊のように、ただ性と食とのことを思いつづけるだけである。

外の因縁に由(よ)つて 忽(たちま)ちに節食(せつじき)を思ふ。 施心萌動(ほうどう)して 穀の縁に遇ふが如し。[現代語訳] 他の縁によって、たちまちに節食を思う。他の者に与える心が芽ばえるのは、穀物が播(ま)かれて発芽するようなものである。

外道天に生じて 暫(しばら)く蘇息を得(う)。 彼の嬰児と 犢子(とくし)との母に随ふが如し。[現代語訳] 天上の世界に生まれて、しばらく復活することができる。それはおさな児や子牛が母にしたがうようなもので、一時の安らぎにすぎない。

ただ法有を解(げ)して 我人皆遮す。 羊車の三蔵 ことごとくこの句に摂す。[現代語訳] ただ物のみが実在することを知って、個体存在の実在を否定する。教えを聞いてさとる者の説は、すべてこのようなものである。
第五抜業因種心(ばつごういんじゅしん)

身を十二に修して 無明、種を抜く。 業生、已(すで)に除いて 無言に果を得。[現代語訳] 一切は因縁よりなることを体得して、無知のもとをとりのぞく。このようにして迷いの世界を除いて、ただひとり、さとりの世界を得る。

無縁に悲を起して 大悲初めて発(おこ)る。 幻影に心を観じて 唯識、境を遮す。[現代語訳] 一切衆生に対して計らいない愛の心を起こすことによって、大なる慈愛がはじめて生ずる。すべての物を幻影と観じて、ただ心のはたらきのみが実在であるとする。
第七覚心不生心(かくしんふしょうしん)

八不(はっぷ)に戯(け)を絶ち 一念に空(くう)を観(み)れば、 心原空寂にして 無相安楽なり。[現代語訳] あらゆる現象の実在を否定することによって実在に対する迷妄を断ち切り、ひたすら空を観ずれば、心は静まって何らの相(すがた)なく安楽である。

一如本浄にして 境智倶(とも)に融す。 この心性を知るを 号して遮那(しゃな)といふ。[現代語訳] 現象はわけへだてなく清浄であって、認識における主観も客観もともに合一している。そのような心の本性を知るものを称して、仏(報身としての大日如来)というのである。
第九極無自性心(ごくむじしょうしん)

水は自性なし 風に遇ふてすなはち波たつ。 法界は極にあらず 警を蒙(こうむ)つて忽(たちま)ちに進む。[現代語訳] 水にはそれ自体の定まった性(しょう)はない。風にあって波が立つだけである。さとりの世界はこの段階が究極ではないという戒めによって、さらに進む。
第十秘密荘厳心(ひみつしょうごんしん)

顕薬塵(ちり)を払ひ 真言、庫(くら)を開く。 秘宝忽ちに陳じて 万徳(まんどく)すなはち証す。[現代語訳] 密教以外の一般仏教は塵を払うだけで、真言密教は庫の扉を開く。そこで庫の中の宝はたちまちに現われて、あらゆる価値が実現されるのである。
