Development of Field-Effect-Baesd Biosensing Devices

In this research, we develop novel biosensing devices using nano-micro and semiconductor technologies, and propose sensing devices for bio-molecular recognition and cell functional analysis, which have some good abilities such as high-sensitivity, high-accuracy, high-throughput and so on. By use of field effect transistors (FETs) based on semiconductor technology, we investigate electrical characteristics of cell membrane with molecular charges on the gate surface as sensing area. Moreover, we analyze electrical phenomena of cell membrane and variability of drug responses for each organ (liver, pancreas and so on) using FETs. For highly-performed screening and sensing devices in regenerative medicine and pharmaceutical lead discovery, we will realize the field-effect-based drug screening devices in the field between biology and electronics.
