To all member students of the Host Family Program,

1. The Host Family Program does NOT mean “home stay”. The host family leads the program according to his/her ideas and leadership.

2. Alumni office takes work to match students with the host families. After this initial phase, the whole phase of the development depends on personal communication of students and the hosts. In personal conversation try to speak Japanese as far as possible.

3. In principle the program is run by the initiative of the host family. But try to keep contact with your host family under your initiative also.?If you have something to consult with the host, he/she is willing to support you when the chance is available.

4. When you finish your study program, I suggest you to invite your host families to attend the ceremony of commencement (graduation ceremony) to express your appreciation for their support to your social and cultural life in Tokyo.

5. Try to keep contact with your host families even after you graduated from the university. Notify your new job and mailing address to the host families when you leave from the university.

6. You are requested to make the first contact from your side. Call the host family and say hello to the host expressing your thanks for voluntary offer from the host.
